The
BOLAM model graphical outputs are daily available
as the result of a cooperation between the Institute of
Atmospheric Sciences and Climate in Bologna (ISAC-CNR), the Physics Department of the University
of Genoa (DIFI) and the Meteo-Hydrological Centre of the Liguria
Region (ARPAL-CMIRL).
Two different runs are performed since the
beginning of the Special Observing Period of the Mesoscale Alpine
Programme (September 1999,
MAP SOP
):
21 km resolution:
- initial and boundary conditions:
derived every 6 hours from ECMWF
(initialized at 00 UTC, rotated grid, obtained
through Aeronautica
Militare) hybrid levels;
- duration: 72 hours
(from 00 to 72 UTC);
- grid: rotated horizontal Arakawa
C-grid; 154´144 grid points at the resolution
of 0.20 degrees; 30 vertical levels;
6,5 km resolution:
- initial and boundary conditions:
self nested (every 90 minutes) in the 21 km run;
- duration: 36 hours
(from 12 to 48 UTC);
- grid: rotated horizontal Arakawa
C-grid; 140´130 grid points at the resolution
of 0.06 degrees; 40 vertical levels;
